Smartwatch maker Pebble announced this week two new watches and a particular device called Core, that is a tiny Android computer with two programmable buttons and featuring Bluetooth, GPS and 3G (SIM card and cellular data service are not included).
These new products were launched through the crowdsourcing platform Kickstarter. The campaign already raised almost $7 million. After 24 hours of campaign Pebble sold more than 4,500 Core devices.
Priced at $69 on Kickstarter ($99 recommended retail price when available through usual retailers), Core is positioned by Pebble as a “hackable, connected device to replace your phone when you’re out running.“
Core is expected to ship in January 2017.
