TomTom today announced that a new version of their turn-by-turn application for the iPhone will be available shortly and will include HD Traffic (where available) and Google Local search. The Dutch navigation manufacturer has already submitted the new application (version 1.3) to the Apple App Store.

Pricing has not been mentioned at this stage. In addition, the HD traffic roll out for the iPhone will be different from country to country. For example, it will come in the Spring timeframe for France and it is unlikely it will come to the U.S. at all since TomTom has not yet launched this technology for its PND in North America.
