Coyote: “We Collect 10 Billion GPS Probes Per Year“
Speed camera warning devices and apps vendor Coyote System today said it currently gathers more than 10 Billion speed measurements (GPS probes) per year, a raw data that has become over the last few years a key component of real-time traffic .

The company currently provides these probe data in real-time to traffic information suppliers such as INRIX, NAVTEQ, Mediamobile, ViaMichelin and Infotrafic.

"Among our portfolio of data sources, Coyote Systems is a valuable contributor to our V-Trafic traffic intelligence platform" said Vincent Godec, CEO of Mediamobile. "Coyote's GPS probe data contributes with accurate real time speed information, even on secondary roads. This results in better traffic information for all of our customers, whether they're receiving traffic information in the car, on their PND or smartphone, or on the internet."

In its press release the company also said that “During peak driving hours the Coyote community usually has more than 100,000 drivers on the road,“ out of its 1.5 million paid users across several European markets.
