AT&T Child Tracker Launched on App Store
U.S. wireless operator AT&T last week announced the availability of its child tracker app, FamilyMap, on the iPhone App Store. FamilyMap helps families stay up to speed on each other's whereabouts by locating wireless devices within a shared family account. The iPhone application allows to log into the service and use features that were previously only available on a PC.
Users can locate up to two phones on an account for a monthly subscription of $9.99, or up to five phones for $14.99 per month. This pricing is consistent across all AT&T's wireless portfolio. “More than 60 percent of AT&T wireless customers are part of a family plan or multiple line account, so there’s a considerable number of our subscribers whom we believe will find this service beneficial,” said Mark Collins, vice president of Voice and Data Products at AT&T when launching the service last year. FamilyMap is powered by LBS provider Wavemarket. Monday February 8, 2010
